Which sentence in the passage describes the benefits of sexual reproduction?

(During sexual reproduction, it’s important that the gametes from both partners are available.) After mating, the gamete from the male, called sperm, fuses with the female gamete, called the ovum. (Millions of sperm are produced by a male). But only one sperm manages to fertilize the ovum. The progeny has one set of genes from its mother and another set from its father. (The fusion creates a unique recombinant blend in the offspring). (The offspring has to reach sexual maturity before it can reproduce to create further offspring.)

The third sentence is the correct one. The sentence is basically saying that the fusion is making a unique blend of genes in the offspring. Which increases genetic variation. And the question asked for a benefit or advantage and that is the biggest one of all.

The sentence in the passage which describes the benefits of sexual reproduction is this: 'THE FUSION CREATES A UNIQUE RECOMBINANT BLEND IN THE OFFSPRING'.
This sentence is telling us that the advantage of sexual reproduction is that, the offspring that is produced is genetically different and unique from its parents because it was made from the combination of two different gene pools, one from the male parent and the other from the female parent.
