the answer is 33 meters
use the Pythagorean theorem
56^2+x^2=65^2
3136+x^2=4225
x^2=1089
x=33

Answer:

33m

Explanation:

In A rectangle with a diagonal, the diagonal line divides the rectangle into two right angled triangle.

The diagonal serves as the hypotenuse and the other two sides serves as the opposite and adjacent.

According to Pythagoras theorem;

Hypotenuse ² = Adjacent ²+opposite ²

If diagonal = 65m = hypotenuse

Let Length = opposite = 56m and;

width = adjacent = x

Substituting this values in the formula we have;

65² = x²+56²

x² = 65²-56²

x² = 1089

x = √1089

x = 33m

Therefore the width of the rectangle is 33m
