The equation is-
25% of the total (x) =4
Change 25% to a decimal, 0.25
0.25(x)=4
Divide 0.25 from both sides
0.25x/.25=4/.25
x= 16
Or, you could multiply 4 times 4, since 25% is a quarter.
There were 16 slices at the table.
