We are asked to solve the Pythagorean equation
(6)^2+(8)^2=c^2 for
c. First off, we need to simplify the exponents. When we do so, we get
36+64=c^2 \Rightarrow100=c^2. Now, we take the square root of both sides -
√(100) = √(c^2). The square and the square root cancel out, giving us
c= √(100) \Rightarrow \boxed{c=10}. Hope this helped!
