An economic system in which government officials determine production levels is known as command/planned economy.

In a command/ planned economy the central government owns all land and means of production, and makes economic decisions. This type of economy does not operate on supply and demand principles.

China, Cuba, Iran and North Korea are countries that are command/ planned economies.
