A chef used 1/3 of a bag of potatoes to make 1/2 of gallon of stew. If he wanted to make a full gallon of stew how many bags of potatoes would he need?

Answer:

A full gallon of stew is 2 times more than a half gallon of stew. So, you double the bag of potatoes needed as well

1/3 × 2 = 1/2 a gallon × 2

= 2/3 = 1 gallon

Therefore, you would need 2/3 of a bag of potatoes to cook a full gallon of stew.
