Women before the suffragist movement focused on different core issues than women in later movement. They focused less on what gave women a power and a voice but more on issues that dealt with human rights and morality issues. The early women's movement focused on abolishing slavery and drunkardness, prostitution and giving girls equal chance to learn to read.
