Some factories drain chemicals into the local water supply. Some factories also release smoke and chemicals into the air.

Air pollution - they release burnt fossil fuels which contribute to global warming.
Noise pollution (maybe) - if they make noise.
Visual pollution - may look 'ugly' and also take up valuable land space
