First, make sure both fractions have the same denominator.
In this case, the denominator would be 12, because both 6 and 4 go into 12.
Remember to multiply the top by the number by the number used to get the denominator to 12!
The final equation should look like this --- 4/12+3/12
The answer would equal 7/12
