Some similarities:
Both were activists that fought for an important cause in their country.
Both were willing to put their life at risk for their cause.
Both believed in the power of rational thought and education.
Both inspired millions of people.
Both went against what was considered "legal" in their countries.
Some differences:
While King focused on the rights of African Americans, Malala focused on the rights of women.
Malala was much younger than King when she became well-known.
