Multiply the numerators and denominators separately.

Multiply the numerators together and write it as the new numerator.
Multiply the denominators together and write it as the new denominator.
Then you may need to reduce the fraction.

Rule:

(a)/(b) * (c)/(d) = (ac)/(bd)

Example:

(4)/(5) * (7)/(8) = (4 * 7)/(5 * 8) = (28)/(40)

Now we reduce the fraction.

(28)/(40) = (7 * 4)/(10 * 4) = (7)/(10)
