An ideal gas occupies a volume of 2.70 l at 2.80 atm and 28°c. if the temperature is raised to 36°c and the pressure is decreased to 1.30 atm, what is the final volume of the gas?

It is already stated in the given that the gas is ideal such that it will follow through the equation,

PV = nRT

If all else are equal except for the temperature and pressure, the equation that relates the initial and final conditions.

P₁V₁/T₁ = P₂V₂/T₂

Substituting the known values,

(2.80 atm)(2.70 L)/(28 + 273.15) = (1.30 atm)(V₂)/(36 + 273.15)

The value of V₂ is 5.97 L.
