1: where laws in the past the same as they are today?

2: why is a person accused of crime considered innocent until proven guilty?should the same standards apply in a civil case?

1) Not many laws are the same as they were in the past, however some laws hold similar meanings or precautions.

2) A person accused of crime is considered innocent until evidence is found proving they are guilty because if the accuser had made a mistake an innocent person may have gone to prison. (The rest is a matter of opinion and debate.)

laws in the past are not the same as today since they didnt have the same ideologies as today and werent as modern

a person accused of crime is innocent till proven guilty is said because if they were wrongly accused then are innocent and shouldnt be blasphemiszed. it should apply to civil case since they could be innocent even if its a lesser crime
