False they don't have to be clearly just has long as you have them so my teacher says!

What you must do is cite the author and the year. An in-text citation is a citation in parenthesis. You give proper credit to the source or author, informing the reader where it can find more information. For instance, APA in-text citation uses the last name of the author and the year of the publication. If it is a direct quote, include the page: (Moore, 2018, p. 211).
