Find the least common denominator or LCM of the two denominators:
LCM of 4 and 7 is 28For the 1st fraction, since 4 × 7 = 28,
27/4 = (27×7)/(4×7) = 189/28Likewise, for the 2nd fraction, since 7 × 4 = 28,
4/7 = (4×4)/(7×4) = 16/28Add the two fractions:
189/28 + 16/28 = (189 + 16)/28 = 205/28In mixed form: 7 9/28

6x - 27 = 4x + 7

Subtracting 4x on both sides:

2x - 27 = 7

Adding 27 on both sides:

2x = 34

Dividing by 2 on both sides:

x = 17
