The size of each level represents the amount of energy in that level. Since the size greatly decreases as you move up the pyramid, there is a great amount of energy lost as you move up.

Answer:

A. there is a great amount of energy lost as it travels up the energy pyramid.

Step-by-step explanation:

As you can see directly in the image, the energy in the producers is large and wide, then in the primary consumers it decreases a lot, making this a loss of energy, then from primary to secondary the amount of energy decreases again to the half and then the same from secondary to tertiary, again in half, so the different levels of the pyramid have different amounts of energy, because of that we can say that there is a large loss of energy as it travels up the energy pyramid.
