Bronislaw Malinowski is considered to be one of the most acclaimed and important twentieth century anthropologists. This is largely due to the work he did in the Trobriand islands studying the indigenous groups that lived there. After returning to Europe, he published a book about his experiences in 1922. The book was called "Argonauts of the Western Pacific" and helped him rise to his position of prominence in the field of anthropology.
