Final answer:

The total number of cups of punch Peter makes is the sum of the volumes of orange juice, ginger ale, and strawberry lemonade, which adds up to 12 5/6 cups.

Step-by-step explanation:

To calculate the total number of cups of punch that Peter makes, we need to add together all the quantities of the different liquids he mixed. By summing up 4 1/4 cups of orange juice, 2 1/4 cups of ginger ale, and 6 1/3 cups of strawberry lemonade we get:

  • 4 1/4 cups = 4.25 cups
  • 2 1/4 cups = 2.25 cups
  • 6 1/3 cups = 6.333... cups

Now, adding these amounts together:

4.25 + 2.25 + 6.333... = 12.833... cups

This can be rounded to 12 5/6 cups if we want to express it as a mixed number, which is the total volume of the punch mixture.

Well first we can combine the OJ and the GA since they have the same denominator. When we combine it is 6 and 1/2 cups now we have 6 and 1/3 cups. What I would do now is combine the two 6 cups so we know we hae 12 cups and now combine the fractions. Convert both fractions to 12ths. 1/2=6/12 and 1/3=4/12. 6+4=10. 10/12 or 5/6.

Peter has 12 and 5/6 cups of Punch

Hope I helped
