MASTERY CHALLENGE!

Pat's Pizza made 21 cheese pizzas, 14 veggie pizzas, 23 pepperoni pizzas, and 14 sausage pizzas yesterday.Based on this data, what is a reasonable estimate of the probability that the next pizza made is not a cheese pizza?

A.)51%
B.)66%
C.)71%
D.)81%

If you can explain, that would be even better! Thanks!

to start we need to add all the pizzas to see how many total they made.

21+14+14+23=72

then the probablility that it is not a cheese pizza is the same as the probability that it is one of the other types

14+14+23=51

there is a 51/72 chance that the next pizza is not a cheeze pizza which equals 0.71 equaling a 71% chance

I hope I've helped!

The probability of the next pizza not being cheese is
P(not cheese) = 100 - P(cheese)

the probability of it being cheese is 21/(total)
Total = 21 + 14 + 23 + 14
Total = 72

So, P(cheese) = 21/72 x 100
which is roughly 29%

So P(not cheese) = 100 - 29 = 71%
