you would need about 6.2222 buses to take the 168 students and chaperones so 168*2/54=6.2222 buses!

As per the problem we have,

Mirror Lake Elementary has 168 students and chaperones going on the fifth grade class trip.

Each bus can hold 54 people.

we have been asked to find , how many busses are required to accommodate 168 passengers.

So we will divide the total number of passengers(168) by capacity of a bus(54).

Hence total number of buses required

Hence total number of buses required =4
