adult+student=170 ----(1)
5adult+3student=650 ----(2)

(1)*3; 3adult+3student=510 ----(3)
(2)-(3); 2adult = 140
so adult = 70
then student = 170-70 = 100

answer: Tammy sold 70 adult tickets and 100 student tickets
