Shawn has a bag containing seven balls: one green, one orange, one blue, one yellow, one purple, one white, and one red. All balls are equally likely to be chosen. Shawn will choose one ball without looking in the bag.

What is the probability that Shawn will choose the purple ball out of the bag?

If there are 7 balls and each one is a different colour, that means that each ball has an equal chance of being chosen.

As there is only 1 purple ball, and there are 7 balls in total, the probability is 1/7.
