f(x) = -3x - 7.....f(-4)...this is basically saying that x = -4.....so sub in -4 for x

f(-4) = -3(-4) - 7
f(-4) = 12 - 7
f(-4) = 5 <===

- 3( - 4) - 7 = 12 - 7 = 5
