8 less is going to be minus 8. Three times something will be represented by 3x. Greater than means the symbol opens and faces the left (points to the right). So the answer is the first one: 3x-8 > 15.

three times a number......3x
8 less then 3 times a number.....3x - 8
greater then 15.....> 15
so we have : 3x - 8 > 15
