the median is the middle so the median would change if someone new was in the class and their height was different.

Answer:

In statistics, the median is measure of central tendency. It's actually defined as the middle value, the number which is right in the half of the distribution.

Now, the median can be changed only if we also change the total number of students, let's say 14 students, then the median could be another number placed in the middle of the distribution.

What doesn't change the median is eliminating values in extreme spots, like in the right edge of the left edge of the distribution. If the number of students is the same, then the median is the same. Because the median is a direct value presents in the distribution.

Therefore, the action that would change the median is changing the total number of students.
