Answer:

Pamela is currently 8 years old

Explanation:

P - 7 = D

P + 6 = 2D

So if P is 7 now, then in 6 years she will be 13. D would be 0 and then 6. 13 is not double 6

So if P is 8 now, in 6 years she will be 14. D would be 1 and then 7. 14 is double 7

Let's assume Pamela is 8 years old. Then Debra, 7 years younger than Pamela, is 1 year old. So:

(1 + 6) = 7
8 + 6 = 14

14/7 = 2

Since 14/7 = 2, 14 is 2 x 7, so Pamela is thus twice as old as Debra at that point.

The correct answer is 8.
