If we are looking for the slope of a line parallel to that equation, we just need to put the equation 7x+2y= -22 into the form y = mx + b (also known as point slope formula) where m is the slope.

We solve for y
7x + 2y = -22

2y = -22 - 7x
y = -11 - 7x/2

The slope is -7/2
