it would be a mutation. all of the other mice have tan fur. that rules out natural selection and selective breeding because both require a parent with the genes for black fur. and adaptation means that the mice are changing due to their environment.

A. mutation would be a change in the DNA of the mouse causing it to have a different color fur.
