Because Florida has a lot of water. So with unsteady, muddy, bottoms dirt tends to shift. Florida's sea level is really, really, low, so that's why it has tons of water. A sink hole in Florida is The Devils Hole near Hawthorne, FL.

Florida's
peninsula is made up of porous carbonate rocks such as limestone When the dirt, clay or sand gets too heavy for the limestone roof, it can break and form a sinkhole
.
Sinkholes
are caused naturally.
