To increase by a percentage, multiply by the 1+(the percentage/100). i.e. in this case to find 25% we'd multiply by 0.25, so to increase by 25% we basically find 125% of it, which involves multiplying by 1.25.

8*1.25 is 10, so the spider ate 10 bugs this month.

Answer:

The spider ate 10 bugs this month.

Explanation:

A spider ate last month = 8 bugs

If the spider ate more bugs this month = 25%

First we calculate 25% of 8 (last month's value)

=
(25)/(100) × 8

= 0.25 × 8 = 2

The spider ate 2 more bugs than the last month.

So this month spider ate = 8 + 2 = 10 bugs.

The spider ate 10 bugs this month.
