2a²=25
a²=25/2
a=√(25/2)

Answer:

The sides are approx 3.54 cm.

Explanation:

We know that an isosceles triangle has 2 sides equal.

Given is that the hypotenuse is 5 cm, lets say the remaining two sides are same and they are x

So, as per Pythagoras formula, we get;

x^(2) +x^(2) =5^(2)

=>
2x^(2) =25

Dividing both sides by 2:

=>
x^(2) =12.5

x = 3.54 approx

Hence, the sides are approx 3.54 cm.
