A clerk is marking up merchandise 34% the original price of an item is 455 what will be the retail price

If we consider the original price to be 100% of the price and a markup is 34% this means 100%+34%=134%. In decimal 134%=1.34.

Therefore, we must multiply 1.34 by the original price and so:

455(1.34)=609.70

And so the retail price will be $609.70.
