While shopping with your friend. Rory, you remember you have a coupon for 10% off any items. The thing you want is $100 and it is on sale for 15% off. Rory tells you that if you use your coupon, you will get 25% off the original price. Is Rory correct? How much will the item cost you after getting both discounts?

Answer:

Roy is incorrect.

Explanation:

The price of the item has already had 15% taken of. 15% off of $100 is $85.

Now take 10 percent of off that, and you get $76.50. If you were to take twenty-five percent off of the original $100 like Roy said, you would have got $75. Although It is only a small difference, Roy is still wrong.
