Just to add on to the previous answer, the type of energy that would be responsible for the movement of an object would be mechanical energy. The unit for mechanical energy is the exact same as the unit for work (the joule), meaning that they are very closely related.
Whenever there is an object experiencing work, mechanical energy must be present in order for such work to be done. Mechanical energy relates to both gravitational potential energy and kinetic energy.
AL2006 is correct that the term would be "work", however.
