Chinese Exclusion Act 1882.

C is about as wrong as it can be. It did exactly the opposite. It restricted the migration of Chinese immigrants for the purpose of doing jobs that no else wanted.

D is almost the same as C. No one wanted to see the Chinese coming to America except employers seeking cheap labor.

A. I'm not sure how this applies. If it means that the people ruled on this one then, the answer is yes they did. The answer is between A and B

B. It is not very flattering to be classified as a nativist, but many people were/are. The term means to put the interests of the current population (in America) ahead of those who would immigrate.

Before picking, let's see what the Gentlemen Agreement (1907) did.

This act was in two parts.

Japan agreed not to send anyone to America for the purpose of employment

America agreed not to impose restrictions on Japanese immigration

I think the best answer is probably B
