ANSWER:

-1/2x + y = 6

ABOUT POINT SLOPE FORM:

  • y - Y1 = m (x - X1)
  • Y1 & X1 is a point on the line
  • m represents the slope
  • This form allows you to identify the slope & the point on the line

ABOUT STANDARD FORM:

  • Ax + By = C
  • A & B & C are integers
  • A &B are both non - zero
  • This form is good to use when wanting to find the x & y intercepts of a line

y - 3 = 1/2 (x + 6)

y - 3 = 1/2x + 3

+ 3 + 3

y = 1/2x + 6

-1/2x -1/2x

-1/2x + y = 6

I'm not sure if my answer is correct... But please tell me if it's correct or incorrect! Thank you! :)

Answer: x - 2y = -12

Explanation:

y - 3 = (1)/(2) (x+6)\\2(y - 3) = (2)(1)/(2)(x + 6)\\2y - 6 = x + 6\\\underline{-x +6}\quad\underline{-x + 6}\\-x + 2y = 12\\-1(-x + 2y = 12)\\x - 2y = -12
