Explanation:

3/5(x+2)=x-4

I do not like working with fractions, so I will multiply by 5 on each side to clear the fractions.

5 *3/5(x+2)=5*(x-4)

3*(x+2)= 5*(x-4)

Distribute

3x+6 = 5x-20

Subtract 3x from each side

3x+6 = 5x-20

3x-3x+6 = 5x-3x-20

6 = 2x-20

Add 20 to each side

6+20 =2x-20+20

26 =2x

Divide each side by 2

26/2 = 2x/2

13=x
