9, it should be a 3 x 3 grid and usually the main object being photographed should be centered or near the first vertical line

Answer to your question :
Nine
According to rule of thirds or rule of thumb , a visual image must be divided into nine equal parts by two horizonal equally spaced lines and two vertical equally spaced lines.
