To add or subtract fractions it will be easier to make sure they have the same denominators.

The lowest common denominator here is =9×5 =45

= (-1)/(9) *(5)/(5) +(1)/(5) *(9)/(9) \\=(-5)/(45) +(9)/(45) \\=(4)/(45)

Hope this helps!!

Answer:

4 / 45

Explanation:

-1/9 + 1/5

= -1 × 5 / 9 × 5 + 1 × 9 / 5 × 9

= -5/45 + 9/45

= -5 + 9 / 45

= 4 / 45
