Given that :

Filling occurs at a constant rate ;

Change in gallon of water in pool within a 3 seconds time interval ;

Assume :

At t = 0 ; gallons = 5

At t = 3 ; gallons = 7.4

Chanhe in gallons with time.;

(7.4 - 5) / (3 - 0)

2.4 / 3

= 0.8 gallons per second
