Explanation:

To resize down-scale the dimension of a room, if the scale is 1/4 inches per foot, then the size of a 6x4 feet (width and length) room would be;

1/4 x 6 = 1.5 inches

1/4 x 4 = 1 inches

that is, 1.5 x 1 inch on paper when scaled down.
