Like the Pardoner, the Wife of Bath tells the other pilgrims a tale that expresses an important point she wants to make. In some ways the story is similar to a fairy tale, and it teaches a moral. What elements of the story fit the characteristics of a fairy tale, and what is the point that the Wife of Bath wants to make?

A fairy tale always has a good or happy ending. The main characters find their way after being in the middle of a world of difficulties. This is an element in the Wife of Bath´s tale.Another component is that of having to ask somebody for help so as to obtain something which is very much desired . In addition, it is substantial to point out that there are lessons to be learned in fairy tales and The Knight, who is the main character from the tale, has a lesson to assimilate after his mistake.Furthermore ,there is the very important ingredient of some kind of magic, which is obvious in the Wife of Bath´s tale.As a conclusion, the point the Wife of Bath wants to make with all the details is that it is a woman´s decision what saves the Knight from being executed . In any case, It is a woman´s power to decide what to do that can give a man happines and it is precisely what happens in the end of the tale.
