How you can tell whether an equation has and infinite number of solutions or no solution at all?

infinite the equation will be true when solved (0=0 or 2=2) no solution is when the equation is false when solved (17=2 or 2=8). on graphing if it is infinite it will be one line. no solution the lines will be parallel. I'm slope intercept form the slope will be the same but the y-intercepts will be different.
