The reader can learn how Jewish people were discriminated against during the war. Chiune Sugihara was the first Japanese diplomat in charge of issuing visas in Lithuania.

As Jewish refugees from Poland came seeking to escape from Nazi persecussion, Mr Sugihara decided to bend the rules to help them by granting visas for Curacao and other Dutch possessions in America. Even if he was endangering his position he gave visas to those Jewish refugees who needed help.

The right answer is:

How Jewish people were discriminated against during the war.

Step-by-step explanation:

Sugihara cooperated with many Jewish refugees from Poland as well as Lithuanian Jews who tried to acquire exit visas. Without the visas, it would've been dangerous to travel, yet it was impossible to find countries willing to issue the visas. Homefront Diary takes place during WWI.
