Answer: w = 7cm

Explanation:

Perimeter = 2 x length + 2 x width = 2L + 2w

Width is 4 cm less than the length, so w = L-4

36 = 2L + 2(L-4)

36 = 2L + 2L - 8

36 = 4L - 8

44 = 4L

L = 11

w = 7

2(11) + 2(7) = 22 + 14 = 36

Length is 11, width is 7
