Why is it important for all people to pay their taxes?

In Texas, the two main types of taxes are sales and property. It is important that citizens pay their taxes because taxes are used to pay for public services and programs, including public education, public safety, utilities, community maintenance, and health services. Failure to pay taxes can result in fines or criminal charges.

People should pay their taxes as they help to fund government organizations that are important in our lives, such as construction, military, police & fire departments, and even some medical organizations are funded by our taxes. Without these, life in our country would be much worse, and as a citizen, it is our duty to pitch in. And don't worry, we're being represented in the government by our elected representatives, so it's fair. "Taxation With Representation" is the best :)
