The Progressive Era is a period of heightened and widespread social activism and political reform throughout America, from the 1890s to the 1920s. The main goals were the removal of problems caused by industrialization, urbanization, immigration and political corruption. During this time, women from all layers, white, black, rich, poor, joined many organizations within a progressive era. Women have become leaders in many social and political movements. One of them is a women's rights movement. The goal is to achieve legal, economic and social equality of women. Also, the promotion of women's electorate was one of the goals.
