The Parthenon is considered the finest example of ancient Greek architecture because its decorative sculptures are thought to be pices of the greatets Greek art. It is also considered a symbol of athenian democracy, apogee of Doric order. Was built on the 5th century BC to honor godess Athena, Athen´s patron and to announce the glory of the city to the world.
