To find the slope, use the slope formula and plug in the two points:

(-8,5) = (x₁ , y₁)

(-23,2) = (x₂ , y₂)

m=(y_(2)-y_(1))/(x_(2)-x_(1))

m=(2-5)/(-23-(-8))

m=(2-5)/(-23+8)

m=(-3)/(-15)

m=(1)/(5)

Use the slope formula

m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

m = (2 - 5)/(-23 - (-8))

m = (2 - 5)/(-23 + 8)

m = (-3)/(-15)

m = 1/5

m = 0.2

-------------------

The answer as a fraction is 1/5

In decimal form, this is equivalent to 0.2
