please help me! I don't really understand this so if you can explain it would make the concept of this easier for me

To find 10% of 180 you multiply 180 by .1

If you wanted to find 99% of 180 you'd multiply 180 by .99

If you wanted to find 1% of 180 you'd multiply 180 by .01.

Because the problem asks for a ten percent increase we need to find what 10% of 180 is and then because it increases we add this number to 180 to get our answer.


`180 * .1 = (180)/(10) = 18`

so 10% of 180 is 18.

Now to find the increase like I was saying earlier:


`180 + 18 = 198`

The answer is 198 turtles came to the beach.
